Xtend develops software for managing activities in intralogistics. The young Dutch company moved in 2018 to a new rented office at the Dr. Paul Janssenweg in Tilburg, the Netherlands. However, the many new projects and augmented client base forced Xtend within a year already to go elsewhere. They moved in June 2019 to the newly build property.
The new building is located on the innovative business park Tradepark 58 (again in Tilburg) and will enable Xtend to give their employees more space. New is the Customer Experience Center, where interested parties can experience extensive demonstrations and simulations of the software solution. The customer can also take a seat behind the keyboard to experience the user-friendly software in a much better way. In addition, Xtend will set up a special room for the R&D team, which is developing and testing new functionalities with hardware and software.
The building, just like the ultramodern warehouses of the customers, will be particularly environment friendly. For example, the building has no gas connections, a heating pump delivers a pleasant working temperature and there are solar panels on the roof. And if Xtend employees have to visit the customer, they can do so with an electric car.
Leon Schuurbiers, CTO at Xtend, explains: “This new building offers us the opportunity to focus more on new developments so we help our customers even better. For example, we are not only more involved in the larger and international projects of sister company Costo, but customers also find us now if they only need a WMS. Recently, the WMS comparison tool of a consultant indicated that our WMS really stands up well to any solution from the larger software companies. In addition, our more extensive know-how about warehouse systems can be our unique selling point, as was recently the case with a learning materials company. ”
The Customer Experience Center is also the place to get acquainted with the new VAL (Value Added Logistics) module in the Arrow WMS, with which these extra warehouse activities can be optimally planned and controlled. Consider, for example, packing, re-labeling, checking, processing returns or kitting.
Xtend has already supported dozens of customers in the Benelux with its IT solutions, but WMS projects have also been implemented in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Germany.
